This spot, with its counter setup and self-serve soda fountain, has a slight McMediterranean feel to it. Thankfully, that ends when the food is brought out. Avoid the pedestrian hummus; instead, dredge your pita through refreshing cucumber yogurt salad or the galaya, a simmering skillet of lamb-and-tomato stew. Or skip pita altogether and get your carb fix with a warm lamb pie. Whatever you do, you’ll be washing it down with soda: Dawali translates to grapevine, but if you want wine, you have to bring it yourself.
