Guests of the Ritz-Carlton hotel will appreciate Deca as a place to get a great burger, a good salad and a nice glass of wine at the end of a long day. Chicagoans, on the other hand, may not find much reason to stop by. The menu sticks so fervently to bistro classics that it renders itself unoriginal. And the room—more of an anti-room really, a wall-less space that bleeds into the hotel lobby—isn’t special enough to inspire locals to come in either. Can you get a solid meal here? Absolutely. As for a meal special enough to be associated with the Ritz…that’s another story.
