There are plenty of ways this shrimp house distinguishes itself from some of the older games in town. The most obvious: the decor, which utilizes boat paraphernalia to surprisingly charming effect. When it comes to the food, Joey’s doesn’t seem much different than its competition—it’s basically just shrimp, frog legs, catfish and hush puppies, with a fried cheeseburger thrown in. A lot of it is fried to crisp, greaseless perfection, but since re-opening other items like a lobster roll, jibaritos and Puerto Rican pork chops round out the menu.
