This simple grab-and-go coffee outfit lacks the elegance of its sit-down locations, but look through the window behind the counter and you’ll know this is where the magic happens. And by magic we mean the production of flaky croissants and delicate layered cakes, which takes place in the huge, sparkling kitchen on view. A smattering of those incomparable pastries is available in the case, and they also serve as the base for sandwiches, like a bacon-egg-cheddar croissant-wich that’s shockingly good for something pre-made. For more substance, head down the block to the original location.
