When a Topolobampo vet opens his own taqueria, you expect certain upgrades from a typical counter-service taco-slinger, and here, you get them: chunky guac dotted with pomegranate seeds accompanied by fresh-from-the-fryer chips sprinkled with sea salt; fish tacos with a perfectly fried filet, crunchy cabbage, fresh pico de gallo and a hint of serrano aioli; the most impossibly tender chunks of chicken in its pollo adobado taco; and maybe the least saccharin horchata in Chicago. One thing you’d expect from a fancier taqueria that you don’t get here: inflated prices.

Wow is this place great! Extremely authentic, and I recommend that you upgrade everything you get to have their housemade tortillas if they don't already come with it. Homemade salsas are to die for as well. Carne Asada is a must!
Chicago's Best picked it as the best burritos??? Sorry, must have been a white thing? As a person of Hispanic heritage, this was nothing close on being the best? Horrible texture and taste on the tortillas on the tacos I ordered. The Burrito was ordinary as well with little meat to show. They also need to take down the menu online that states the price of 2 dollars when the tacos were almost 3. Not a good value at all!
Best steak taco I have EVER had and that says a lot. I am of Mexican descent and the bar was set pretty high but this certainly delivered!
It's bright green exterior is hard to miss, and for good reason: L'Patron is the best taco joint in all of Logan Square, and the long line that fill the shop are proof. If it's your first time, you need to try the steak, which is cooked fresh and juicer than it has any right to be. More adventurous visitors may want to sample the lengua or the al pastor—each above average renditions. Don't plan on coming here for a quick bite (there's usually a wait) and don't be afraid to request extra salsa (they're delicious).
