M Burger

The M in M Burger may as well stand for McDonald’s, or at least McDonald’sish, because the place has the same greasy aroma, detectable from down the street and the same magic bullet that shoots directly into our pleasure receptors whenever we take a bite of its food. Maybe it’s all that sugary ketchup, or the sugary buns, or the soft mouthfeel of the beef that makes for effortless inhaling. Whatever it is, eating these burgers is pure happiness. Note, though, that this is true of the regular cheeseburger only; the “special sauce” and robust bacon on the eponymous M Burger detract from its finer fast-food points. So go simple or go home. Or get the chicken sandwich, which is smeared with avocado and pairs well with the shop’s thick, addictive shakes.

M Burger gets so many things right. The burgers are always cooked well and never dry. The fries are some of my favorite in the city, and the shakes are rich and smooth. Three cheers!

M Burger is an awesome small Chicago burger chain! Thin, crispy patties and great skinny fries. I recommend you save room for one of their shakes as well (especially if you order from the secret menu!)

As far as eating almost anything at M Burger... I can't. The Nurse Betty does happen to be pretty good though and the fries, dear Lord, the fries are some of my favorite around the city.

I go to M burger fairly regularly for lunch. They're located in the lower portion of the daly center. They're pretty fast and I love their fries. If you're looking for a solid burger that gets the job done, I would recommend checking out M burger!

The Nurse Betty is pretty awesome, but I actually really like the fries! I love a good skinny, crispy fry and they are always fresh. I find that I go at least twice a month, because they are located every where these days.

The Thompson Center's food court might be the most disgusting place in the entire city. There's an Arby's, a Burger King, a Taco Bell and a Sbarro. But one fast food joint makes it worth visiting: M Burger. The place offers a simple menu of burgers, fries and shakes, and is worth considering if you're looking for a quick, cheap bite in the Loop. Get the Hurt Burger—it's fantastic.
