Its menu might be narrow in focus, but this empanada-and-coffee shop from the Las Tablas clan aims to spread Colombian culture. Handmade wares, packaged foods, CDs of Colombian bands and fair-trade coffee are imported, but (thankfully) the empanadas are made fresh on-site. The pocket itself is nice and crisp (if slightly greasy), and the roasted veggie empanada packs plenty of flavor. Rich, fried foods coupled with sticky-sweet desserts don’t make for a light lunch, but the potent coffee should perk you up.
