Though you wouldn’t know it from the shiny interior, this diner has been slinging burgers in Roscoe Village since 1953. After a renovation, its new incarnation actually feels more beach shack than diner—the doors prop open to create a breezy feel, and the limited seating means most people take their food to go. But the menu—cheeseburgers topped with sweet grilled onions, Chicago-style dogs (all-beef franks heavy on the celery salt) and a full lineup of shakes and sundaes—is diner all the way.
