Manee Thai

This West Town restaurant opened as a spinoff of the popular Avondale Thai spot (best known for its private-party room that held many a karaoke birthday party) after a fire destroyed the original location. The menu is identical, with the standard noodles, rice dishes and curries front and center. Best bets include the sweet and spicy “7 Buddies,” a fresh and crunchy green papaya salad; and the catfish pad ped, hunks of crispy fish smothered in red-curry paste with globe-shaped Thai eggplants and al dente bamboo shoots. No karaoke, but feel free to sing along with the random tunes piped out of the overhead speakers.
