Marchesa is a new tri-level, upscale European restaurant in River North with a variety of meat, seafood and vegetarian dishes. I was impressed that an entire page of the menu was dedicated to vegetarian and vegan eats like my dish featured here - the ratatouille confit byaldi which comes with eggplant, tomato, zucchini, yellow squash and mushrooms in a smoky piperade. It was light and refreshing. The bottom floor of the restaurant is an intimate speakeasy with boho-chic vibes, serving craft cocktails in lounge style seating. The middle floor is the main dining room with elegant artwork. The top floor (featured here) is remiscient of a cozy luxe apartment with antique furniture and classic decor. This place is definitely worth checking out for the ambiance!
