The idea at this bustling restaurant-lounge is to present great examples of food from all around Latin America. That’s a tough order to fill, and while the restaurant manages to get the margaritas exactly right, the food is hit-or-miss. Nachos topped with honey-kissed shreds of pot roast are an interesting interplay of sweet and savory, and the juicy Argentine carne asada comes with a piquant chimichurri and tempura green onions. But the bland ceviche Yucateco and California-inspired fish tacos left our taste buds wanting more, leading us to believe perhaps Sol should narrow its focus.
