Load up on Middle Eastern food on the cheap at the wonderful bakery and grocery store. Besides great values on coffee, nuts and dried fruits, all sold by the pound, cases lining the wall are stuffed with a wide variety of hummus, grape leaves and spicy baba ganoush. A counter in back serves premade savory hand pies, like artichoke and cheese in a flaky crust.

They've recently renovated this space to make it even larger and it's even better than before. I love the sandwiches and the prices can't be beat!

The absolute best for hummus, pita, spinach pies...all the fixins for a Middle East feast. I haven't tried the new cafe yet, but if they serve their own wares, it's bound to be delicious!

When I can't make it over to Albany Park for Arab Bakery, I go to Andersonville for the next best thing. Middle Eastern Bakery has all the breads and sweets I can't get now that I don't live in Lebanon anymore and a whole lot more.
