Mindy Segal rehabbed her Bucktown restaurant in 2012, making it sunnier and adding a huge garage door that opens to let in warm weather. Segal—first and foremost a pastry chef—recently appointed Amanda Barnes to head up the savory kitchen, and the menu now includes lobster spaghetti and roasted chicken with a soy glaze.

The food is here fancy as shit, which sometimes is my thing, but sometimes I just like a simple comfort food. The real star of the menu here is the hot chocolate, as you'd expect. If you go here and don't order the hot chocolate, you're doing it wrong. I love pretty much all the flavors, haha. The brunch is nice too, but still pretty damn fancy. But this spot is an appreciated Wicker Park/Bucktown staple.

When I get a craving for Mindy's Hot Chocolate, I have to make the trek out to Wicker Park for it. This hot chocolate is to die for. Honestly, I'm ruined for all other hot chocolates after having this. Absolutely incredible!

I have been here so many times I can't even count. The brunch and dinner are both fantastic, but the hot chocolate, homemade marshmallows, and the desserts are the real showstoppers here. I love taking out of town guests here just for dessert and watch everyone get super gluttonous by ordering the entire dessert menu. Even the plate of cookies will be wow you, as Mindy has a cookbook out just about her amazing and perfected cookies. Amazing spot to bring a group of friends for a sweet treat at the end of your night, or to go for a super amazing date night. Prepare to be spoiled by chocolate.

I've only ever really had the desserts from Mindy's, but all the ones I've tried have never disappointed! Of course everyone has to try the hot chocolate, I typically go for either the Medium which resembles the quintessential hot chocolate or the Half & Half whenever I need to wake up from a food coma, which is half dark chocolate & half espresso. The house-made marshmallows on top make it extra special. This would be a great date-night spot overall to fulfill that sweet tooth.

Finally got in to try this place and I was not disappointed! Great wine list and an awesome cocktail menu for starters! While their menu does change seasonally, the mac and cheese on their list of starters is a staple and HOLY YUM is it worth a try. If I hadn't been in public I might have started licking the bowl. We also tried the sourdough focaccia, the pork chop, and the crispy skin half chicken all with seasonal veggies. The food was fantastic and the ambience was perfect for date night! We finished our meal with a cup of the Mexican hot cocoa (although they have upwards of 10 variations to choose from) topped with a homemade marshmallow and it was delicious! Their list of homemade ice cream flavors was so tempting but we were too stuffed from everything else. Mindy Segal has done a fabulous job here - it is apparent from the farm-to-table-esque menu all the way down to the interior decor.

Amazing brunch, great coffee, superior service, world-famous desserts. . .What more could one want?!
