Chef-owner Gabriel Viti took more than a cue from New York’s famed Pastis (the subway tiles, the hard-boiled eggs at the bar, the menu) but just the same, he did for the ’burbs what Pastis did for the Meatpacking District—get people to go there. Copycat or not, the food is great. We love any shellfish he cracks open, tops with butter and roasts. Ditto for the pâté and garlicky brandade. The come-as-you-are policy ensures a wait, but tasty mojitos help pass the time.
