Some creative capitalism is percolating in the South Loop: a coffee shop with a social conscience. Overflow takes advantage of a relatively new business model in Illinois that allows it to function as a "low-profit" company: Once the shop starts making a profit, 97 percent of that money will be invested back into the community. The couple (and only employees) behind the sparse but pleasant shop are going to need to sell a lot of Nutella mochas and avocado-hummus wraps to get to that point, so skip a Starbucks and chip in to the little guys instead.
