Perkolator opened its doors in Portage Park in September 2014 with their own coffee blends—which they’ll roast themselves next door by the end of 2015—and a small food menu. Everything here is local, with bakery treats like lemon bars, bread and scones from Sicilian, Delightful Pastries and Fannie Schmoe’s. The sandwich meat is from Szymanski, another Portage Park staple, and is the star of their signature sandwich, the Cubanski, their twist on a Cuban with freshly smoked meats. There’s plenty to drink, from espresso drinks to specialties like spicy mocha, which blends cinnamon, chilies and chocolate for a real pick-me-up. Grab a seat on a couch by the window while you work or catch up with friends. There's a retro vibe, with mismatched furniture and brightly colored walls—think '90s coffee shop with 21st Century amenities, like WiFi.

Perkolator is a true neighborhood gem! The coffee selection is outstanding, and the shop features a selection of different (local) artists.
Best coffee around! Love the kitschy 50's decor. They make great sandwiches too. Great add to the neighborhood!
Perkolater is a special place! Cozy, comfy, and serving yummy sandwiches, baked goods specialty coffees! Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.
The Basilones have absolutely revitalized the Austin-Irving corridor WITHOUT trying to gentrify it. They run three wonderful bushiness on the block and do so much to help to local community and make long time residents feel welcome and included. I love being able to stay in the hood to have a nice day out because of Perkolator and their other shops and not have to go into the gentrified neighborhoods! Perkolator is the best of the best and offers such delicious drinks, coffees, light meals, and treats! The decor honors the architecture of the past and brings a fresh take on a 50's feel while displaying local artists' work. Truly one of my favorite businesses in the entire city.
Great service and my assistant and I love to catch up on business here. An all-around cozy place to spend the afternoon!
