Psistaria is a hot spot for traditional Greek cuisine. Open since 2005, the focus is on fresh and local ingredients. Appetizers include such mainstays as taramosalata, fried calamari, roasted eggplant, octopus and the ever-popular saganaki, which is Greek cheese that is fried and flambeed in brandy. Opa!

The tasty main dish menu at Psistaria features a large selection of seafood and meat options, such as moussaka, roast leg of lamb, gyros, shrimp kabob, sea bass and homemade lamb and beef meatballs. Vegetarian options, like spanakopita and vegetarian moussaka, are also delectable. Complete your Greek meal with their signature baklava or homemade yogurt. The restaurant also offers take out and catering, and will host special events and parties. Psistaria is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.

I will never come back here. Absolutely awful service!!!!

My family came across Psistaria and went on and on about the wonderful abundance of food you get for a nominal cost. I was so sold on it that I had been trying to arrange a group outting for weeks.

Low and behold, my sister calls and says she's arranged for our whole family to go have a family style dinner on a Friday night. Worst idea ever!

There were 8 of us and we all had to agree to have the same soup vs the same salad, the same apps, the same entrees, the same side, and the same desserts. I get that, but give us some time to discuss and decide instead of coming back 12 times when we are clearly trying to figure it out and then giving us attitude. Additionally, my sister was days away from delivering her baby and servers were hitting her chair, bumping into her as she was getting up and then not apologizing. It was utter chaos. I hated every second of it.

Food was subpar. Yes, portions are huge but sometimes it's quality over quantity and this didn't have it. I work in Greek Town and I don't know why I would ever considering leaving to find Greek food elsewhere. Lesson learned, never again. Somewhere on here I read that this is owned by the same people who own Greek Islands. That is unfortuntate because they do not have consistent food or service between locations.
