The concept behind Rhyme or Reason is an awakening of the modern day 70's era. The interior draws on the eclectic featuring plush lounge menu seating, graffiti art, a U-shaped bar perfect for socializing and a stage that hosts weekly live music performances. If records are more your thing, don't worry they only allow DJs to spin vinyl. The menu of American shareable plates and speciality craft cocktails shares in the vibrant spirit with offerings such duck pot pie, kung pao cauliflower and duck tacos.

I've been here twice for the happy hour. The happy hour is pretty good for cocktails and light snacks. They used to offer it everywhere in the restaurant, but the last time I went it was only available at the bar, which is kind of a bummer. The cocktails are stellar, the food is pretty good. The favorite thing I remember eating was the tinga chicken tacos, and the least favorite was the sesame hummus (had a mysterious goat cheese flavor, but no cheese).

Warm weather brunch at Rhyme or Reason is the stuff Instagram dreams are made of. The patio is large enough to accommodate a significant number of guests, but the front doors / windows also open completely if you have to be stuck inside. The drink menu was inventive and the mimosa package is definitely worth consideration.

I ordered the fried chicken & doughnuts and will go back in a heartbeat to have it again. The doughnuts are warm and fresh and the slightly spicy maple bourbon syrup brings it all together. Unfortunately the live music didn't get started until we were heading out, but it definitely created a vibe I'd like to be a part of again!

Rhyme or Reason hides within the block on Division but its definitely somewhere you wanna be.  We visited on Cinco De Mayo and hit the end of a sweet happy hour.  They feature $5/$6 food and drink specials on weekdays from 4-6 pm.  This included a wine, a well crafted punch with elder flower, and a beer as well as oysters or fries.  The DJ there early on was lit and later a live band went on.  We also tried a taco flight with a chicken, steak, shrimp and veggie mini taco with a chaser of their Rhyme-arita with Mezcal.  The tacos were worth the price!  It's a great atmosphere for meeting with co-workers, a girls night or even a date as they have a variety of seating options.  They take reservations as well and the staff there were professional and kind.
