How hopeful we were that this stylish “streetside kitchen” under the Wilson Red Line stop would be the carryout cantina of our dreams. Alas, we found that it’s more useful for its postmidnight $1.50 taco menu, as the carnitas, shredded chicken and stewed goat are uniformly dry and disappointing—unless they’re half the regular price and we’re sloppy drunk. Still, we give points for innovation on the Tijuana-style bacon-wrapped hot dog: Here, the frank is split and tossed on the grill, then cradled in a fluffy bun branded with bacon and melted cheese. A heap of black beans and pico de gallo finish off the glorious mess, which, like the fish taco and just about everything else in the joint, suffers from the trek home, so wolf it down on the spot.
