Sai Cafe

For two decades, this traditional Japanese spot has offered more of a steakhouse atmosphere—with low lights, jazz tunes and TVs at the bar—and keeps the focus on food with thick, meaty cuts of sashimi and perfect, warm rice for contrast. Try some not-so-common choices like sea urchin and escolar, a firm, oily fish with full flavor. Aside from sushi, try the kani su, a salad of cucumbers and meaty pieces of crab in tangy vinegar dressing.

I'm always looking for a new delicious, low-key, but cute atmosphere sushi place where the sashimi is fresh, the service id on point, and the prices aren't too bad. This place hit ALL of those marks! I ordered a not-cheap menu for our 4 person table last Friday night, which I was able to book that day, and absolutely everything we ate was amazing. The ONLY downside is that it isn't BYOB (I love when my sushi place is BYOB), but I will note that the sake was well worth it and not terribly expensive either. We even ordered a soft shell crab hand roll that was so big it couldve been my entire dinner. Definite recommend as an awesome date night or out with your friends sushi spot - its going into my rotation for sure!
