If you’re looking for interesting tequilas, a few contemporary Mexican snacks and an under-30 crowd bobbing their heads to everything from Morrissey to Moby, this spot will work. The back room has more of a dining-room feel, but we prefer the front lounge, with its illuminated tables and Tim Burton–style metal tree sprawled out over the bar. Take advantage of Tuesday’s $5 sangria pitcher special, or splurge on one of the hundred or so sipping tequilas. Skip the so-so entrées in favor of antojito menu picks like bright ceviche made with huge chunks of tilapia, scallops, shrimp and octopus; fish tacos, with plump pieces of barely battered tilapia wrapped in warm tortillas; and the “Salud” nachos, a mixture of cool, creamy guacamole, pico de gallo, black beans and cheese.
