Eating at the Long Room used to mean buying tamales from the Tamale Guy or ordering pizza. But Sidecar at LR, with two separate concepts, has changed that. By day, it’s Biscuit Man, chef Zeeshan Shah, who serves fluffy biscuits with goat cheese and tomato jam for breakfast and housemade naan sandwiches for lunch. By night, it’s Beard & Belly, chefs Kyle Schrage and Jim Torres, who offer chili, poutine and diner-style burgers with butterkase cheese. With Counter Culture coffee and an ever-changing line-up of great beers, there’s pretty much no reason to ever leave.

Absolutely delicious! I ordered the Egg, Bacon, Cheddar biscuit with breakfast potatoes. My favorite part is that you can chose a sandwich and then add as many ingredients as you'd like. The biscuit itself is also delicious, especially if you have a cup of coffee.

While I haven't been fortunate enough to catch the Biscuit Man yet, the guys from Beard and Belly never disappoint. Their grilled cheese is out of this world, don't miss out on it.

Tastemaker

So I first tried beard and belly at the Time Out Chicago Meltdown with their Ubiquitous Grilled Cheese (chedder, butterkase and tomato jam) and I fell in love at first bite. Then when I went to their site to check out the rest of their menu and saw an item called 'The Poutinewich' I knew this love was one that was going to last. Beard and belly has the amazing ability to refine classic dishes without changing them so much that it feels pretentious or unnecessary. I cant sing their praises enough!
