Strings Ramen

Strings sets itself apart from the recent influx of ramen slingers by making its own noodles in the basement on a Japanese machine, and they’re firm, with a nice bite. Get them in a variety of ramen bowls, like the tonkotsu, which has a deep, meaty broth filled with garlic, sesame, scallions and thick slabs of pork. Add an egg and it’ll come with a perfectly cooked yolk that spills into the broth. There’s a happy hour, from 3-5pm, when you can get three free oden sticks, which are skewers served in broth—we liked the soft egg as well as the fish ball. Finish it off with a sweet Japanese soda, and you won’t miss dessert.

A very nice cozy spot located in Chinatown. I love how you get this ginormous bowl of ramen - definitely  worth the price! Every time I go, I get the tonkatsu ramen - the one in the picture is not usually on the menu, but you can always ask them if they can make it that day. I love that their noodles is made in-house- with a machine that they shipped directly from Japan. Perfect for people wanting to warm up and hits the spot when you're craving for something salty and clear broth. Big bonus is they're open late, for the late night after party goers- great way to end the night at 2am ;)

Strings is a great spot for hand-pulled noodles. The city seems to be overflowing with ramen options right now and this is one of the better spots to try!
