Most weekends you’ll find a crowd spilling onto this breakfast spot’s sidewalk, as servers carry plates toppling from the weight of sweet-milk biscuits and bone-in ham. Those who stick it out will be rewarded with staples like housemade muffins, vegetable hash with copious amounts of sautéed onions and peppers, and pancakes with sweet pockets of banana. Don’t miss the Southern-inspired dishes like the fried catfish, grits and compact, crispy salmon cakes, all of which are served on weekends only.

Best breakfast spot near UIC/Little Italy. Feels like you're walking into someone's kitchen in a southern home. The first thing you smell are the biscuits that are made every morning and they are the best I have had in the city. Whether you have them as a side or used for a sandwich...I promise that these clouds of deliciousness are worth the trip.  They have a classic breakfast menu with some southern flare like cheesy grits, and also a great daily special menu. The service is great and you can tell the staff have been together for a long time which always helps.

Straight down Taylor St with a good amount of parking, this is a place everyone needs to try.
