Time Out says

The signage on this skinny counter-service taqueria touts its fare as the best Mexican food in town, and while the objective truth of that may be hard to determine, it indeed does some excellent things with pork. Tacos al pastor are tender and laced with rich adobo essence; others are stuffed with delicately flavored chicharron (pork skin) and slathered with fresh, chunky salsa verde. Weekends bring specials of menudo and birria (goat soup), the latter featuring forkfuls of soft, mildly gamey meat in a smoky broth.

You want authentic Mexican food and won't have your order messed up. Come to Taqueria Traspasada. I recommend the Steak and ground beef tacos. So much flavor. Service is excellent. If you dine in it's a bit small but the atmosphere is great. They give you a complimentary cup of soup. They are a bit expensive but well worth the money. Oh and cash only.

Best authentic tacos in Chicago.  Just a note, the picture shown above is not from Taqueria Traspasada 2

AYE, yeya, ayyyyeeeee! this is my place for cheapy Mexican!!! It's not super cheap but it's cheap enough. We got a ton o shit. Chicken burrito pretty good flavor. Creamy & chunky. Steak burrito was overall really good. Meat was just a little chewy but overall delicious. Al pastor torta was the best! CASH ONLY! But there an ATM.
