Time Out says

What used to be a meatpacking facility is now a "net-zero energy food business incubator." What's that? A building in the Back of the Yards neighborhood that houses tenants for food and drink businesses, a non-profit education and research center and indoor demonstration farms. Tenants are wildly different, like kombucha breweries and an urban mushroom farming group.

What’s on

Chicago Textile Center's Textile Fair

The Chicago Textile Center was founded earlier this year to offer Chicago's maker community a space for learning, resource sharing and community development. Learn more about the organization's mission at its first Textile Fair, which will take over food-business incubator The Plant for one day only. Peruse textiles and tools from a coterie of vendors or participate in one of the to-be-announced workshops offered throughout the day.
