This bare-bones grocery store on the edge of Logan Square has a secret: Crammed in the back behind rows of provisions is a bar-stool-only Cuban dive pumping out tasty pressed Cuban sandwiches (served with paper-thin, hand-cut french fries) and wickedly strong Cuban coffee, all at bargain prices. Scan the specials signs for great deals, such as a combo of roast pork sandwich, fries and soda for $4.95—a great precursor to an Italian ice next door at Miko’s.
