Sure, it’s mostly known for brunch (and rightfully so: You haven’t had a Bloody Mary until you’ve had one here with the corn arepas). But anybody who’s tried one of Tweet’s layer cakes (also served at the bar next door, Big Chicks) knows dessert here is a must. Whether red velvet or yellow cake with chocolate frosting, these cakes taste as if they were baked by a loving mother, or at least a loving den mother—which is exactly what Tweet’s owner, Michelle Fire, is.

I LOVE TWEET! This place is a "Chicago-Gem"! I love coming here for brunch, lunch  or dinner (when they have it, although dinner may be at Big Chicks the bar that is associated with Tweet.) The food is fresh, locally sourced and delicious. They have an amazing menu and seasonal specials that always hit the spot. They have classic breakfast/brunch/lunch options as well as plenty of health conscious and an entire gluten-free menu. They have one of the best bloody-Mary's around.  The owner, Michelle, is friendly and truly cares about having an amazing place for folks to come to. The staff is friendly and fun and offer great recommendations. Not only is the food great, but Tweet has a great eclectic and fun atmosphere. Art is displayed all over the restaurant and is a great distraction when waiting for a table during the weekend. I have been coming here for a decade now and am made to feel welcome every single time I eat here. This is my go-to breakfast spot and definitely worth checking out!

This is my very favorite place to eat breakfast-y food in Chicago. My very favorite place. I love the food here so much, that when it's time for brunch, I don't even consider anyplace else. I love Tweet so much.
