Time Out says
You might expect a place that has a 70 percent vegetarian menu and was completely nonsmoking before it had to be to serve boring dishes made with soy milk and flaxseeds. But this coffee shop/bar/restaurant/performance space will surprise you. Brunch features decadent takes on classics like ham and cheese stuffed brioche and sage fried chicken eggs benedict. The dinner hour brings Jeff Buckley tributes and enough surprisingly good cocktails to get through them.

Uncommon Ground is a great spot for vegetarians looking for a good lunch or brunch option in Lakeview. Get the "cold and flu buster," hot chamomile tea with a splash of honey and vodka. If you get there early, you might be able to snag a seat by the fireplace, too.
Low-key, easy to pass by on the street, in somewhat of an unlikely location for a vegetarian restaurant, Uncommon Ground is one of my favorite spots to eat when I'm out on the North Side. The promise of a cozy atmosphere, fireplace and comfort food is too much to pass up!
