It’s not surprising that this two-room hot spot has thrived in the finicky Lincoln Park neighborhood for more than 20 years. Bath and body products, vases, funky wine glass sets and tons of other presents for brides-to-be, moms-to-be and the hostess-who-has-everything can be found in the front room. In the back, you'll find racks of comfy sweaters from brands like Velvet ($104+), plus Henry & Belle denim ($154+) and plenty of Dogeared jewelry ($42+).

I love shopping here. Right off the Armitage brown line and surrounded by other cute spots, I stop in here when I have a little time to kill. The clothes can be on the expensive side, so I only go for those when a sale is in store, but their other items, like home goods, bath and body products, etc. are always worth a look. If you ever find yourself in a spot where you just need a "little something" for a friend or family member that isn't generic, this is your place. Staff is very friendly, too!

I don't think it's possible to dislike Art Effect! From the moment you walk inside, you feel like you've walked into your whimsical dream house/ closest. This is the perfect spot to find a unique gift since they sell everything from home accessories to jewelry. You can also find a great assortment of cards to go with the gift and wrapping provided free of charge as well. They also have some killer extra half off sales occasionally as well. It's hard not to buy everything when you're inside because the second you see a unique print of your neighborhood, a DIY birdhouse or a totally rad dress, it has to be yours!

Tastemaker

I've been shopping at Art Effect for many years now, though their prices can be a bit steep nearly every piece I've bought there has become a staple in my closet. They are located in the heart of the shopping district in Lincoln Park, so you can spend the day hopping from shop to shop. Their selection of unique pieces from lesser known designers allows you to add some variety to your closet. Their clothes air on the trendy side but not so much so that you won't be able to wear them in the next couple of years. Make sure you check out their jewelry and home goods as well. Its a great place to check out if you're looking to find a gift for a friend or loved one.
