Très Awesome
Leo Burnett art director by day, street-fashion blogger/photographer every other minute, Emma Arnold of Très Awesome claims Chicago streets aren’t lacking for fashion plates—you just need to know where to go. Answer: Wicker Park, Ukrainian Village, outside the School of the Art Institute buildings and in the Gold Coast, where she’s on the hunt for employees and patrons of the stylish shops. Lush photographs with randomly sighted subjects—mostly in Chicago but also from trips to New York—are accompanied by mini interviews and occasional styling tips and editorial. As for fame and fortune, Arnold originally set her sights on acquiring media passes to Lollapalooza and Pitchfork when she started Très Awesome two years ago. Now, she’s not only invited to the fests, VIP-style, to shoot for Très Awesome, she’s also documenting fashion for websites of national pubs like Elle and Nylon.—Jessica Herman
