Keep them inside.Eliza, on her fashion guilty pleasureOBSERVATIONS FROM THE SET Rosalitas, the fictional Chicago bar on the show, must be set in Bucktown. We spied a lot of Bucktown Arts Fest posters plastered all over the walls. Other Chicago posters/signs spotted: Reckless Records, Columbia College, Darkroom, Cubs, Blackhawks, Mucca Pazza.

I was there earlier this year, and I was hanging out, and a lot of people kept coming up to us who are fans. I think its actually become a funny thing to people in Chicago that the show takes place in Chicago, and it clearly doesnt look like Chicago. Zachary, on Happy Endings in ChicagoOBSERVATIONS FROM THE SET The official City of Chicago no smoking sign in Rosalitas has Mayor Daleys name on it. During this photo shoot, Eliza confessed shes never been to Chicago. Someone get her a plane ticket!

That was really fun. Although I will never wear eyeliner again. It took me a week to get it off. I was walking around, and people thought I was auditioning for The Crow. Or The Pete Wentz Story. Who would want to watch that? No one.Adam, on his favorite costume on the showOBSERVATIONS FROM THE SET Maxs Mandonna cover band was almost called Sex Pants None the Richer. We saw lots of photos of Chicago on the sets, like a pic of the Bean in Brad and Janes bedroom. Spoiler: Even though the ABC sitcom Happy Endings, whose third season premieres October 23, takes places in Chicago, it’s actually shot in Los Angeles. That would explain the abundance of parking meters and so many alfresco dining scenes in the winter. But the show does tap into that being-in-Chicago-in-your-late-twenties/early-thirties vibe. We crashed the L.A. set while the cast (Eliza Coupe, Elisha Cuthbert, Zachary Knighton, Damon Wayans Jr., Casey Wilson and Adam Pally) was filming its Halloween episode, reluctantly stripped the stars of their group Jackson 5 costume and cast them as models in our Fall Fashion issue. Fans of the show know Wilson’s Penny is a fan of comfy clothes, but sorry—you won’t be seeing her Pajoveralls (yes, that means pajama overalls) on any trend list this fall.
