IT’S A MAN’S WORLD “It’s like Steve McQueen, Hunter S. Thompson and Ralph Lauren having a yard sale,” says co-owner Brice Cooper (former host of HGTV’s Design on a Dime) of his and Arthur Holstein’s new North Center shop. Sharing a love of vintage motorcycle racing and collecting and a desire to fill a void in the men’s retail market, the two guys put their heads together to curate a selection of lifestyle accessories and apparel for, as their tag line puts it, “men of character.” What that means: Les Ateliers Ruby helmets, vintage motorcycle jackets, WWII military trunks turned into coffee tables, vintage Clint Eastwood movie posters, Le Labo candles and more. The shop also offers its own lines of badger brush shaving products and locally designed and produced racing-inspired attire under the name 3856. For the opening party on October 16, count on complimentary hot towel shaves, exotic meat pairings, burlesque dancers and a ten percent discount off all merch from 11am–5pm. 3856 N Lincoln Ave (773-697-8035, iomstyle.com).
