Le Bon Visage (CLOSED)

It's a one–woman, one–room show at this skincare spot. Owner and aesthetician Liz Quesnelle opened up shop in 2003 after learning the ropes at the Aveda Institute and assisting an M.D. at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where she specialized in skin disorders and corrective cosmetics. Thanks to her rigorous training and hospital experience, Quesnelle has an honest, optimistic, yet scientific approach to skincare (she does makeup application and lessons, too). And as a rule, she doesn't sell products (“you can get great stuff for a lot less at any drugstore”) and she follows up after sessions with each client via email. It's a small operation but the facials are fantastic–and we felt like we were in the hands of a pro with the bubbly, but not overly chatty, Quenelle.
