With rich bamboo flooring, light fixtures from Italy and a hand-painted mural by local artist Heather Gentile inspired by one of Maria Pinto’s subtle lace patterns, the Chicago-based designer’s first store echoes the goal of her clothing: To create a luxurious experience. The eponymous, 2,100-square-foot boutique features Pinto’s full collection of womenswear ($350 and up), which includes jackets made from kangaroo leather, coats, cocktail attire and the evening dresses Michelle Obama—a longtime Pinto fan—has been photographed wearing.
