Karyn Dethrow of Dethrose Vintage (formerly known as Max & Chloe Vintage), 29
Selling since 2006
Find her at dethrosevintage.etsy.com, Heaven Gallery (1550 N Milwaukee Ave, second floor) on weekends and Vintage Bazaar
Day job Manager of Adriano Goldschmied AG Jeans
Specialty Vintage clothing from the 1930s to the ’80s
Examples 1940s hat ($35), 1970s wooden heels ($35), 1950s blue summer dress ($35), and a black woven bag from the 1950s ($25)
The one thing I couldn’t part with “This is impossible for me to answer because it happens way too often! But if I have to pick just one item, it’s a 1950s taffeta and tulle floral dress. Anyone who knows me knows that I’m absolutely obsessed with Mad Men and Betty Draper’s style.”

Morgan Gagne of Vintage on the Make, 25
Selling since mid-2009
Find her at etsy.com/shop/vintageonthemake, Vintage Heaven sale (Jul 31, Aug 1) and Vintage Bazaar
Day job Manager at UPS
Specialty “I started my Etsy shop hoping to maintain a manly vibe through most of my items and pictures. I’ve sold lots of barware, clocks, weird mannish decor, lamps; at the end of the day, though, Etsy is a female-orientated outlet, and it never hurts to have some bright colored Pyrex in the shop.”
Examples Vintage razors ($20 each), pewter bald eagle lamp ($35) and ’60s cube alarm clock ($25)
The one thing I couldn’t part with “A 1920s bar set. It has four larger glasses, four shot glasses and one decanter. The previous owner built this flimsy holder for all of it and topped it off with horse stickers on the sides. I raised the price throughout the day [at the Vintage Bazaar], then finally gave up and labeled it NFS. It’s mine.”

Caitlin Holcomb of Nice, 27
Selling since 2005
Find her at nice.etsy.com and Vintage Bazaar
Day job Curating vintage and creating handmade crafts for Nice.Etsy.com
Specialty “I’m drawn to vintage decor and apparel that can stand alone and still fit effortlessly into your lifestyle.”
Examples “I have a pair of vintage shop lamps ($58 each) that I’m excited to bring to the Vintage Bazaar. They’re industrial looking yet work well in many decor styles.” Other items include a Patio Days serving tray ($26), Holland holiday keepsake box ($14), coffee mugs ($18–$25), a dream cat figurine ($14) and more.
The one thing I couldn’t part with “I definitely always struggle to part with lighting. I’ve got more vintage lamps and light fixtures than I’ll ever need, but I love them!”

Jillian Knox of Joules Jewels Vintage, 24
Selling since April 2009
Find her at Vintage Heaven, Vintage Bazaar, Debonair Social Club’s Vintage Style and Beauty Fair, Randolph Street Market, BONANZA! at Berlin, Beauty Bar and joulesjewels.etsy.com
Day job Freelance photographer
Specialty “Vintage men’s and women’s clothing, high-end designer vintage, vintage housewares, jewelry and accessories. Everything in your wildest vintage dreams!”
Examples Authentic vintage paisley Furla clutch ($120), 1980s pink Pappagallo rubber ankle wellies ($50), a 1970s African print dress from Ghana ($28, sold), and a large solid copper compact engraved “To my Dear Rosemary” with the date, 1947, on the back ($20, sold).
The one thing I couldn’t part with “I have so many items that I have run into that problem with, but probably the best thing I have is my signed Barclay gold-plated red rhinestone cocktail ring. It’s something out of Rachel Zoe’s dream, and she would probably die for it.”

Xza Louise, 25
Selling since 2003 on eBay
Find her at xzalouise.com, stores.ebay.com/seats-n-stitches and Bazaar at Beauty Bar
Day job Wardrobe stylist for personal and corporate clients
Specialty 1920s–1960s dresses and the occasional romper or skirt. “I sell my leftovers from photo shoots and items that I love so much that I just can’t not buy (or that aren’t my size)!”
Examples Louise names all of her dresses, such as the Luella, a rainbow-color floral-print romper. On sale right now: a pink satin Shannon Rogers from the ’50s ($200), a ’50s pastel floral romper ($50) and a leather and plastic woven clutch with a Bakelite handle ($35).
The one thing I couldn’t part with “My Vivienne Westwood collection peacoat with spiked seams. I found it at a thrift store in London years ago and while wearing it on the streets, met the madame of punk-rock fashion who recognized her early-era coat and told me the story behind the design. I never sold it, but it got stolen at an art-gallery coat check a couple years back.”

The one thing I couldn’t part with “It’s priced really high in my shop ($72): a huge turkey platter by Homer Laughlin from 1953. The pattern is called Cherry Valley.”
