Some folks have their sweetie’s name tattooed on their arm, but Angela Hartman’s (center) newest ink is an homage to Twisted Scissors, the salon she recently opened with fellow stylists Anna Gonzalez and Amber Murphy (at left and right). The trio met while working together at Roscoe Village’s Big Hair, which seems to have inspired Twisted’s funky West Bucktown storefront. The sunny space is all pinup-girl glam and features a rose-and-thorn–laden mural penned by Hartman’s tattoo artist; and everything from swing to rock & roll is pumped through the speakers. Bargain-priced cuts ($20 and up) and color ($50) are given to a wide range of clientele donning camo-colored salon capes, who sip PBR and wine while they’re coiffed and colored. Whoever said punk and class don’t mix? 2001 N Point St at Armitage Ave (773-227-1077).—Lauren Viera
