This Korean-run and -patronized spa harks back to the days when spa-ing meant sweating en masse, and no one much fussed about ambience. The entryway is quiet and low-lit?ladies go right and men go left, please?but in the back things cut loose. The sauna and steam rooms are fairly tame, but if the formidable six-jet whirlpool doesn't stun your body into submission, the hot and cold dipping pools will. If you want to fork out for a massage or body scrub (average price $60), there are no-nonsense experts to accommodate you. The locker rooms can be loud. There is refuge, however, for those who prefer to wind down a little more quietly. Beat a hasty retreat to the post-spa area, a darkened room where Barcoloungers abound, and hope that no one's turned on the television?unless you're into Korean soap operas. There's also a sushi bar, where you can score a decent roll, but the hours can be willy-nilly.
