It’s got enough fitness classes on the schedule to qualify as a full-blown gym, but the vibe is decidedly spa-y at Soulistic Studio and Spa. Start with a workout in one of two exposed-brick studios with floor-to-ceiling windows and sunny views. The class menu includes options like belly dancing, hip-hop, yoga and BalleCore, a class that combines ballet-inspired moves and core exercises ($20). You can also opt for a Pilates personal-training session or reformer group classes in a second studio room. Classes accommodate a max of 15 students to ensure lots of one-on-one instructor attention, so make sure to call in advance to snag your spot. While you’re at it, go ahead and reserve a 30-minute session in the sauna and steam rooms ($30). The sauna’s special infrared light supposedly penetrates the body’s tissues at a more pleasant temperature than traditional hot-rock saunas, plus it encourages the release of cellular toxins. Top off your visit with some spa therapy in one of three treatment rooms—the services offered range from deep-tissue massage to the soothing Thai hot compress for achy muscles ($100). If memberships were available, we’d be regulars.
