Self Workout in the Park
When June 2, 11am–3pm

The deets The women’s magazine returns to Chicago for a one-day-only event featuring a variety of workouts (including Pilates, ab and cardio sessions), beauty and style consultations, and gourmet samples. This year features an appearance by Dolvett Quince, a trainer on NBC’s The Biggest Loser.

Millennium Park workouts
When Saturday mornings, June 9–September 1, 7–11am
Where The Great Lawn at Millennium Park (201 E Randolph St, 312-742-1168)
The deets This popular summer workout series returns with a ton of options for getting fit. Expect 45-minute classes taught by experts on tai chi (each Saturday at 7am), yoga (8am), Pilates (9am) and Zumba (10am). Find the complete lineup at the park’s website. Plus,
just like last year, expect live music during
the yoga and Pilates sessions.

13.1 Chicago half marathon
When June 9 at 7am
Where South Shore Cultural Center (7059 S South Shore Dr)
The deets The weather is usually just right (average high is 79; average low is 57) by the time this race rolls along. Runners start and finish at the South Side Cultural Center, and run along the lake, through Jackson Park, past the Museum of Science and Industry and more. Run this race and the Chicago Half Marathon in September, and you’ll get a Windy City 26.2 Challenge medal. This event also features a 5K for less-ambitious runners.
Price $80 through May 29; $100 after

Bike to Work Week
When June 11–15
Where Locations throughout the Loop
The deets Bike Chicago’s weeklong event aims to promote biking as an alternative form of transportation, but we can’t help but think of the health benefits of biking every day as well. In addition to the bike commutes, the event features a few workout freebies: CityTarget presents alfresco Spinning classes near the “Bean” in Millennium Park (June 11–14; 6:30 and 7:30am) and you can participate on a two-hour Loop bike tour (June 14 at 6:30pm). Plus, there’s a free screening of Pee-wee’s Big Adventure (he rides a bike in the movie!) at the Great Lawn in Millennium Park (June 12 at dusk) and a morning rally in Daley Plaza (June 15 at 7:30am).

Women’s half marathon
When June 24 at 7am
Where Grant Park (Columbus Dr and Balbo Ave)
The deets This one’s just for the ladies. The half marathon starts and finishes in Grant Park. All participants get a New Balance Tempo sleeveless shirt, medal, bag and post-race party. The day also features a 5K race.
Price $65; week of race $75
