MONKEY SEE, MONKEY DO Forget about treadmills and ellipticals—it’s back to childhood basics at Monkey Bar Gymnasium. South Loop’s newest sweat station strips training down to four functional fitness fundamentals (running, jumping, crawling and climbing) to build a stronger you and integrates partner yoga to restore muscles. The results-driven instruction aims to provide a solution for time-crunched and boredom-battling gymgoers. Developed by NBA and NFL trainer Jon Hinds, these workouts encourage adults to play like kids: Think P90X’s intensity and intervals fused with CrossFit’s community.  Membership packages start at $108 per month; a free class is offered every Saturday at 9am. 2255 S Michigan Ave (312-488-1915, monkeybargym.com).
