In this cheeky musical comedy, which had a brief Broadway run in 2011, writers Douglas Carter Beane and Lewis Flinn shift the basic premise of Aristophanes’ Lysistrata—the women of Athens withhold sex until their men wise up and end war—to the cheerleaders and basketball players of modern-day Athens University. Refuge Theatre Project stages the Chicago premiere in a church gymnasium.
