Time Out says

Built in 1925, this onetime Balaban and Katz movie palace is said to have a larger interior than Radio City Music Hall. Mostly closed to the public since 1981, the theater's fallen into deep disrepair; it was purchased in a court-ordered foreclosure sale in 2008 by JAM Productions, which hopes to eventually rehab and reopen the Uptown.
