A Chanukah Celebration with Chicago a cappella

Turns out, a capella’s not restricted to pop hit mashups and Christmas carols. Tune in to Classical 91.5's website throughout the holiday season (Nov 1 - Jan 15), when the Chicago a cappella ensemble turns its vocal talents to a variety of Hanukkah-perfect tunes like "Lo Yisa Goy" and "Hallel Suite." And of course it wouldn’t be a Hanukkah concert without taking "I Have a Little Dreidel" for a spin in both its traditional Yiddish version and a neo-funk Hebrew rendition. This special show provides liturgical and cultural background with its look inside old and new choral Hanukkah traditions and gives us a much needed break from an endless stream of “Jingle Bells.”
