"A Latin American Christmas"

The Newberry Consort presents a series of holiday concerts in Evanston, Uptown and Little Village featuring sacred and secular music that would have been heard at Christmastime during the 15th through 18th centuries. The program includes music from Peru, Spain, Panama and Guatemala, centered around a short nativity play that’s interspersed with spirited dances, sonorous motets and festive villancicos—joyful folk music of praise and celebration.
