CHIRP Record Fair

Each year, music-lovers descend on the Chicago Journeymen Plumbers Union Hall to sift through stacks of vinyl records at this record fair, hosted by CHIRP Radio. Vintage Garage will take over the venue's bottom floor, offering vintage décor, ephemera, mid-century modern and vintage fashion from 20 dealers. Moxee American Kitchen, Puffs Of Doom and Dark Matter Coffee will fuel your crate-digging. Have enough records already? Attendees can also enjoy sets from guest DJs, a selection of local craft beers and button-making with Busy Beaver Button Co.

This is the perfect event if you're on the hunt for hard-to-find vinyls ... or just want to see a bunch of hipsters digging through records. I enjoyed the downstairs of Plumbers Hall (featured vendors from Vintage Garage) much more than upstairs (mainly records, the occasional poster or cardboard cutout for sale). Music junkies would love this, but I really just went out of curiosity. They sold tamales, beer and featured live music as well. Not a bad daytime event if you're looking for something different to do in West Loop.
