Time Out says

Maxed Out On Distractions is the ground-breaking debut LP by Los Angeles natives CORNERS, torchbearers of Echo Park's D.I.Y. underbelly. Far beyond the confinements of the "garage-rock" genre, this meticulously crafted sonic experience fuses frenetic punk energy with a synth-heavy hypnotic groove. Polished gems "Love Letters" & "Caught in Frustration" evoke a dark, yet undeniable beauty, while aggressive opener "We're Changing" is analogous to the band's expansive new sound. A synth-inspired post-punk album in today's digital climate, the album title itself is a reflection of living in the Internet age and literally not having any room in your life for more distractions. Unplug yourself from the wall, take your Google Glasses off, and put the phablets away, kiddies, CORNERS are here to help you feel again. Chicago band WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY returns for their first time in almost two years, bringing some noisy punk rock that’s both dissonant and muscular. They've been working diligently, playing shows and recording new material to gear up for tonight's Free Monday, so give em a high five before and after (and maybe during) their set. No sleeves, no problems. Kicking off tonight's show is CANTER, a Chicago act who takes dark, electro-ambient soundscapes and mashes them with Krautrock rhythms and haunting vocals. CANTER released their debut EP early last year and opened for BLACKBIRD BLACKBIRD here last July. Their surprisingly massive sound rightly blends the new with the old, taking us boldly into the future.
