  • Things to do
Photograph: Jaclyn RivasGerman Leberkaese with sauerkraut ($7) from Traditional German Food (#17) is a beef and pork loaf that comes nestled in a bun with piquant sauerkraut. It’s hearty and satisfying.

Time Out says

The DANK Haus German American Cultural Center's annual Germany Day celebration—typically a festival and a parade—is off this year, but you can still revel in a bit of the Oktoberfest spirit via this daylong curbside food pickup fundraiser. Choose from a menu of German classics, including bratwurst, Leberkäse, sauerkraut and honeyed Bienenstich cake; all proceeds go toward the cultural center's funding and programming. Fill a up a beer stein with a sudsy Pilsner at home and you've got yourself a proper German feast.

Various prices; see the website for more details
