Farnsworth House, one of the area's greatest Midcentury treasures, will celebrate International Women’s Day by shining a light on local women pioneers in five disciplines: architecture, interior design, product design, landscape design and graphic design. These incredible trailblazers are responsible for some of the most recognizable places, products and images associated Midcentury modern design.

Supported by the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s “Where Women Made History” campaign and Landmarks Illinois’ “Women Who Built Illinois” project, the two-hour virtual symposium includes a lively Q&A session with panelists Susan S. Benjamin, Kim Soss, Julia Bachrach, Victoria Matranga and Lynn Martin Windsor.

Whether you're an architecture buff or a Midcentury modern admirer, there's plenty to learn from these women forerunners.
