Dogs, dogs, dogs. This beach is great for those with a case of canine envy or those who just want to lay around in the sand. Volleyball is almost always in the cards. Bring sun tan lotion, because you'll probably be wanting to stay all day long.

You can do a lot at this family- and dog-friendly beach (and note: I don't have kids or dogs, but I still love Montrose Beach). There's almost always a volleyball tournament going on, and it's great for just wading out and out and out into the lake. Free parking is nearby (just get there in the morning), and there's also an amazing nature area where you can almost always spot a variety of bunny rabbits, butterflies, squirrels, birds, chipmunks... (can you tell I love critters?). Take your friends!
